Morning Sleigh Ride

sleighridesmoothie.jpg“FOOD THAT RAWKS” Surviving the Holidays edition

To be considered healthy, morning meals do not have to consist of just fruit in a bowl. Get your day rawkin’ right with this nutritious, mouth watering, worth shouting about smooth blend.

A convenient way to get the nutrition you deserve in a snap is to bulk up your smoothies with super foods! Super foods are foods that are packed full of nutrition, enjoyed in various parts of the world. Today, we have the ability to ship super foods in from different parts of the world, gaining full benefit of these healing foods. During the winter season, I incorporate spirulina in to my diet to give my immune system the boost it needs to stay strong. Spirulina is packed full of amino acids, protein, Vit B1,2,3,6, & 12, minerals such as Iron, Zinc, calcium, copper and Mag. Because of spirulina powder’s extremely high concentration of nutrients, it is very satisfying, leaving one with little desire to continue eating after having some spirulina.

Spirulina available in health food stores and it is relatively inexpensive, costing about US$5 for 100 tablets, making it one of the best foods that you can use for your health.

Because this recipe calls for such a small amount, you will hardly taste the Spirulina, yet you will feel the healing effect!

The first person I tested this smoothie on, responded by saying…”wow! this tastes like Christmas!”
