Moving Paintings

This past weekend, I was at a party where I saw a pretty incredible computer graphics installation, and met its creator.  He’s a guy named Scott Draves who has made an open-source screensaver called electric sheep, named for the Philip K. Dick short story “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” which was the inspiration for the film Blade Runner.  The stuff is almost shockingly beautiful and you can download a version of it for free.  It helps if you have a fast connection.  Check it out here.

He really has some beautiful pix on the site. Reminds me of some of the more fantastic ayahuasca journeys I’ve done — mathematical spirals, designs, and lights — lots of colors and lights.

Right, and the swirling moving images are all the more fantastic. He’s giving a presentation tomorrow night at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. Perhaps a pilgrimage is in order?
