=====Friday, May 25====

Funkwothy presents The White Party with ALMA NYC.

ALMA (soul) “All for the Love of Music & Art” is a collective that fuses live instrumentation with Brazilian grooves. DJ True and Miller Cruz marry the traditional sounds of samba, pagode, bossa nova to house, drum n’ bass, Latin & Afro beats – what a beautiful union. The combination has produced quite a serious monthly party introducing the world to their own unique style they themselves call “Neo-Brasilian Fusion”. They share the heart and intense party nature of Brazilians with their patrons by bringing back memories of old NYC, where the party spirit was once similar to that of Brazil in many ways.

All this with Funkworthy, resident Djs Geko Jones, 3rd Rayl and Eliel Lucero bringing Afro-Latin Groove and World Fusion. As always Demostina will be painting live. Bowery Poetry Club family member Liana Wong will be right next to Demo, with a few canvasses of her own. Above the music Chuck Collins controls the projector with an exclusive Art Show for this night, featuring Photographs by Peter Dressel and three years worth of unforgettable images and memories from ALMA NYC. Pull out the white threads you’re always afraid will get stained, and break out your most comfortable dancing shoes, cause we’re going all night with this one! RSVP joannjimenez@almanyc.com.
