On the night of Monday June 4th I dreamed of a black cobra. It slowly slid up my leg. I was wearing long pants and saw the end it its tail and gently grasped it. I then slowly pulled on it with my left hand and guided my right hand to be ready to secure it at its neck. When it was fully out, I held the stretched out cobra in front of me. Tail in left hand venomous head in right.
I was in some small garden courtyard. I was wondering what to do next when another person came running out with a knife and deftly split the cobra right in half with one slice.
I dropped the parts on the grass. I put special focus on the head. I was somewhere closer to it or the head itself grew larger. It had the hood of a cobra but then took on a quality more like a very primal version of the head of Horus carved in a blackened wood replete with hooked beak.
It then spoke to us. It was poison. It complained about what would it do now, now that it was dead. I told him about the after life and he laughed – “there is no after life. There is nothing. I will never exist again, I hate you.” Bitterness itself – like most ideas that don’t want to quit.
What do you intuit?
Dear Dreamer
Clearly symbolic… you have a good knowledge of this black serpent already. It knows you well and is offering itself up to you now. The appearance of your shadow aspect has brought you greater awareness of the need to let go of certain densities. This black cobra is often seen as a poison. just as it told you in your dream. For centuries shamans have removed sickness from people in the form of a black snake. You have shown your own power by removing this from yourself.
You mentioned slowly grabbing it which leads me to believe you are cautious, perhaps you did not want to scare the creature further up your pants? By approaching the situation carefully you were able to achieve your goal. You were able to harness the “problem” and remove it with ease.
As you held the cobra stretched out in front of you, you were able to have a close look at it. This in itself is an offering from the cobra. Get to know your enemy. what does this represent to you??? A thoughtform… a habit… a fear, a sickness??? What ever it may be now is the time to let go !!! Remember it’s venomous head ~
The garden courtyard may represent where you are now, generally speaking. I see it as a calm, grounded, stately, well maintained space, closely connected to the Earth. As you wondered what to do next, someone else came along to show you. They clearly believed the best thing was to end the life of this cobra. They have seen it as a threat to their safety and permanently ended its life. Perhaps this is telling you to cut it out…
Dropping the parts is doing just so… by letting go. Then you watched as it turned into something else just as it is saying that there was no such thing as life after. It appears that you have received a reminder of your own soul’s immortality. An inspiring thought for someone who needs to let go in order to grow. Horus there to remind you of those who watch over… In this form Horus brings a message. One of your connection to the Source and one of the need for you (us) to focus on what is ready to evolve to the next level.
Perhaps there was some residue within that gave itself up and this was it’s way of saying goodbye, and its way of being seen, recognized and validated for the space it held in your life. Let the light now fill that space and illuminate you from there on…
Personally i feel like this is a healing dream ~ nice work ~
