Jewelry, clothes, vases, candles, lamps, books, cd’s, pillows, etc. Look around the house and get ready to swap! In addition, as we do at every meeting, we will have our monthly topic for open discussion. Open Networking and Registration begins at 7:00 p.m., the meeting will begin promptly at 7:30 pm. Please share these details with those in your organization, friends and family as well, that would be interested in our group. Erasing the Boundaries to Freedom with Matt Flickstein Sponsored by the New York Insight Meditation Center.
You have probably heard the statement, “You are already free,” from one or more spiritual mentors. If that statement is true, why do we still experience confusion, emotionality, and reactivity? It may be because we are not seeing things as they really are. There are two realities: conventionalóhow things appear to be, and ultimateóhow things are in their own nature. To erase the boundaries to freedom, we are not denying the appearance of things such as our body, our mind, or our life’s circumstances. Mere appearance does not cause suffering. To experience our inherent freedom, we need to stop clinging to appearances as if they were the ultimate realities of life. This retreat will focus on differentiating between conventional and ultimate realities. We will practice meditations and contemplations designed to expose the ways in which we cling to concepts and beliefs that cloud our vision of ultimate truth. During the retreat there will be meditation instructions, dharma talks, and teacher conferences.
Fee: $325 (A), $295 (B), or $255(C)

End’s Eve: The Feast of 2012
Leo and Davis Blake request your presence at End’s Eve, a dinner party celebrating the coming of a new world. An ancient Mayan prophecy inspires 9 unlikely friends to gather for a costumed dinner party on what may be the world’s last day. The evening will bring immediacy to the questions of life, love, purpose, soul, and logic. Some amongst them believe it to be the earth’s final day, but all of them - even the skeptics - find themselves on a journey into their true natures and an odyssey of what love, friendship, life and this world are really all about. Faiths teeter, beliefs unravel, and surprises abound. Join them as they watch the clock tick on towards midnight. Hurly Burly meets the X-Files. Expect Drama, Comedy, Suspense, Romance and hopefully, leave learning something you might have not known before. The show runs a little under 90 minutes.
Written by Hilary Park & Jennifer Gnisci; Directed by Erik Bryan Slavin. Our talented cast consists of Tim Smallwood*, Marnye Young*, Ethan Matthews*, Devon Berkshire*, Patrick Knighton*, Lauren Orkus*, Tony Naumovski, Chance Mullen, Nic Few*
