Special Benefit Concert - Fight AIDS in Africa

Fight AIDS in Africa!  On Thursday, August 30 There will be a special benefit concert, to support my participation in the 2007 volunteer program in Ghana, west Africa.
The Sankofa center for African dance and culture ( S.C.A.D.C.) educates African youth about H.I.V/A.I.D.S. using traditional African dance, music and drama merged with health and prevention information.  Come Support this important cause and enjoy a full program: 8:30 - opening act - Lampa! ; 9pm - Movie screening about the project, a film by the Sankofa Center for African Dance and Culture, the organization behind Yotam’s trip to Africa,10pm - Performance by Raquy and the Cavemen with the INCREDIBLE Dancer Dalia Carella.  Come see Raquy and the Cavemen, this Thursday in New York City.   It’s a special benefit concert to help send their  bass player, Yotam to Africa for three weeks to work with children with AIDS.  8:30 - opening act - Lampa  9pm - Movie screening about the project, a film by the Sankofa Center for African Dance and Culture, the organization behind Yotam’s trip to Africa  10pm - Performance by Raquy and the Cavemen with Dancers - Dalia Carella from NY, and - Amethyst from Pittsburgh.

Jivamukti Yoga School is pleased to again host Joshua Greene for an exciting and memorable series of talks on the hidden dimensions of yoga philosophy. He then traveled to Nepal to study with Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche. Loch spent 10 years establishing homeless shelters and community lunch programs and worked in outpatient mental health in New York. He has also served as the Coordinator of Counseling as well as Interfaith Chaplain for Union Theological Seminary.  In addition to having practiced as a licensed psychotherapist, Loch has taught Buddhist meditation for over 20 years, having been authorized to teach by Mingyur Rinpoche and Adyashanti.

About The NYC “What The Bleep Do We Know” study group is a fun and lively discussion group that meets once a month to discuss the exciting concepts introduced in the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know”. If you liked the movie and want to continue to explore topics such as Paradigm Shifts, Creating Your Day, Healing Your Past, Quantum Physics and more, come and join us.  With a new shift in awareness as well as the science behind movies such as “What the Bleep” and “The Secret”, we are beginning to understand more about the practical aspects of spirituality and how it’s universal application can powerfully enhance the quality of our lives and others. The group will be meeting on the first Tuesday of each month. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, August 7th at 7:30pm in the cafe at East West Books at 78 5th Avenue (between 13th and 14th streets). We welcome newcomers as well as regular members and all who would like to further explore and share these concepts in a fun and friendly atmosphere with other like-minded people.  Evolve 2012 Music Festival

 Come see one of my favorite bands Jungle Jazz Initiative play with DJ L’ement, Juggling Suns, Mahavishnu project, Kings in Disguise, One Eyed Jack, Subcommittee, Unruly Pilgrim, Swampadelica, Lima Research Society, Mike Lawlor Band and many more for a weekend carside camping, and jamming music fest.  There will be AM yoga, food, craft vending, eco-centric workshops, great people including me, late night music, guest speakers, drum circles and good vibes as we raise consciousness and have fun in the process.  This is a fundraiser for Kid’s Camp.  Kid’s Camp is a free camp for inner city kids where they can have a day out in nature and get a free medical checkup.   Come and join us.  It will be fun the people running it are not only way cool, they are way gorgeous inside and out.
