Amit Chatterjee is a guitarist, singer, sitarist and composer who combines his heritage in Hindusthani music with many years of playing and studying European, jazz and popular music. He has recorded and performed extensively with artists such as Joe Zawinul (1993 to present), Eric Johnson, Carlos Santana, Badal Roy, Glen Velez, Layne Redmond, David Lieberman, Paul Winter and Paul Halley.
Amit was a visiting professor for the ethnomusicology department as the University of Miami from 1984-1986 and continues to draw on his multicultural background as a musician and teacher. His passion has been to continue to forge a true global music, one that is not a patchwork of sounds from different cultures but a new music altogether, spawned by the joys and sorrows of the life of the modern-day global human being.

Polash Gomes is an accomplished tabla player in New York area. He follows the line of the distinguished Lucknow baj. He is the founder of Rageshree Music Institute, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the dissemination of Indian Music in the West.

What better way to power through the Winter cold than by keeping your eyes on this Spring’s Hottest event–New York’s Second Annual Dance Parade May 17th Last May 3000 dancers from over 100 organizations showcased everything from African to Zydeco, Ballet to Burning Man, Tango to Tap, and Clogging to Club.  This holiday season, we want to thank you for your past involvement and invite you to continue support for our dream: Donate, Volunteer and Join the Parade.  Floats and performances will celebrate various forms of dance. 52 dance organizations have already signed up, totaling over 10,000 dancers. We’ve created a spark that will light up New York reinvigorating the love for dance!
