Building Emotional Intelligence: Nurturing the Inner Lives of Adults and Children
With Linda Lantieri, MA. Drawing on principles derived from modern brain research as presented in her newly published book, Building Emotional Intelligence: Techniques to Cultivate Inner Strength in Children (Sounds True, 2008), Linda Lantieri will explore how homes and schools can be places that nurture the inner lives of both adults and children by strengthening their social and emotional capacities. This is achieved by equipping them with some form of regular contemplative practice to help manage disturbing emotions, increase compassion and instill stillness. This workshop also creates opportunities for reflection and personal renewal by identifying self-care tools and approaches, as we acknowledge and address the intense pressures many of us experience living and working in such uncertain times. Join us for a nourishing day of building emotional intelligence, one of the most vital assets of the 21st century.
