Archaic Fusion at Jungle Space

Video Art Party with Archaic Visions.  If you liked Otz Chiimera by Mr. Domino at the Cognition Factor screening last Sunday, you will love this party.  If you missed it, here’s your chance to experience the magik.  These people are genuinely talented, beautiful to look at and gorgeously kind souls.  If you like parties that exhibit higher consciousness in so many exciting ways this is the party to be at.  This group of talented artists, musicians and DJ’s have took it upon themselves to create their own events instead of waiting around for someone else to invite them.  That is why I have the greatest amount of respect for them and I encourage you to come out and join the fun.  Animations will be shown from 7pm – 8:30pm before the craziness of the party begins, so be sure to come early.  –Salma

Prepare for a most momentous night as Archaic Revival teams up with Jungle space* ( http://www.myspace.com/junglespaceny for directions and info )to offer and explosively combustive delicious and delectable combination of auditory and visually arousing sensory inundation and ecstasy that will rock your world beyond recognition,  Here is a video mashup preview of what will be playing:  http://www.vimeo.com/4991703

Last Yoga Class at East West

“In order to ensure the long-term viability of East West Living as an institution that has existed for over 30 years, a decision has been made to close the 2nd floor yoga studios and gallery as of Saturday June 27th”.  Friday June 26th (tomorrow) will be my last class at East West.  I would love for all of you to come out and share in the energy for some powerful “goodbye” yoga with me at 6:45pm.  Per the quote above, the Yoga Studio has made a decision to close down so that they can sustain the rest of the organization that is East West Living.   I have truly loved practicing and teaching at the Studio and will miss it and all the amazing people that come through it.  The energy of the space has always been magical & calming to me.   I know it has been a sanctuary & a place of community to alot of you.  It would be fantastic to fill up the last class, practice Yoga in a community of friends, and celebrate the Studio we have shared as we say goodbye.  Let’s Flow Together **Core Strength Vinyasa at 6:45pm**Abundant Blessings & Warm Hugs~ Love & Light,  Tammy Lynne

The Love Canal

An afternoon of the great outdoors, picnicking, campfires, trees, swimming pools, music, dancing, performance, art and amour!  Following their wedding in late April, Winkel & Balktick set out to the scenic shores of the Gowanus Canal to consummate their marriage. Late one evening, while lost in a passionate roll-in-the-mud, they tumbled over the embankment and into the waters of the canal.  After splashing through the psychedelic-colored surface, they found themselves submerged in a surreal undersea realm, inhabited by the most fanciful and amorous creatures! These happy mutants led a life of fluorescent debauchery, passing the time with song and dance, creating beautiful works of art and engaging in radioactive love affairs.  Dress as a multicolored Gowanus Canal mutant lover, bring swimwear for the pools, or wear nothing and let mutants paint you! Feel free to bring a tent to pitch! Participants wanted! Email us with your ideas! Food will be available, or bring your own picnic!  Music by: The Xylopholks, Cleo Fishel & Ethan; DJs:  Small Change, Joro Boro, Dhundee.

Hobos & Mermaids on the High Seas

Whether you got soaked at the Mermaid Parade or never made it out in the dour weather, here’s your chance to shake your mermaid best in surreal nautical surroundings, as Gemini & Scorpio raise the massive square-rigged sails of New York’s only Tall Ship for a dance party on the high seas. Rebuilt from original plans borrowed from the National Archives, the 160-ft Clipper City, with its masts rising 135′ off the deck, is a faithful replica of the clipper ships that plied America’s waters more than a century ago.  We’ll bring the party on board with DJ Jon Margulies, originator of hobo-tech: depression era techno-contemporary music that nods to a forgotten America, celebrating half-smoked cigars and steaming cauldrons of stew. Come and jiggle to railroad song mashups and prairie guitars floating in silicon datascapes. Dress: hobos and mermaids, of course!  100 tickets available for advance presale, 25 at the dock, first come, first served

The Transition Movement: Tools for Community Climate Change Action

Free Presentation: Friday, July 17, 2009, 7 PM
Transition Training Weekend: Sat. & Sun., July 18 & 19 with Tina Clarke.

The Transition Movement is a method of community organizing and education that builds broad, grassroots support for sustainability while increasing resilience to the climate change, energy and economic crises. The future will be increasingly low carbon and local.  Engaging people now in a planned transition will ensure ways of life that are more abundant, fulfilling, equitable, sustainable, and socially connected.  Since emerging in Ireland in 2005, the Transition movement has spread virally across the UK and beyond, with hundreds of Transition initiatives now underway.  Learn about this rapidly growing global movement.  Tina Clarke of the Sustainability Institute has served as director of Greenpeace USA’s citizen action network and as campaign director for Clean Water Action. The Training will show you how to set up a successful Transition Initiative, or to enhance current sustainability projects. Women’s Retreat: Awaken the Magic and Mystery of the Divine Feminine

Connect to your Passion, Power and Possibilities.  As busy women we tend to put our needs last, so busy ‘doing’ that we forget to just ‘be’. This is an opportunity to focus on your own needs and connect to the authentic you.  When we are together in a circle, gathered with the intention of deep exploration, our energies blend and merge, creating something much greater than any of us individually. We each bring our own expression of the Divine Feminine to the circle, and we enter a timeless, transcendent heart space. From this place true transformation can take place and you can experience greater clarity and a deeper awareness.  During this retreat you will experience: journaling, ritual, dance, dream work, and the sacred labyrinth. We will also welcome special guest, Sound Healer Kim Engler.  You will leave knowing that you are the woman you aspire to become.
